What makes our kids’ ski jackets so special?

Waterproof: With a water column of at least 15,000 mm and a PFC-free water-repellent finish, your kids will stay dry no matter what. Fully taped seams add extra protection.

Warm: The PrimaLoft® Bio™ insulation in our ski jackets keeps kids warm and comfortable with minimal weight.

Breathable: With a breathability rating of 10,000 g/m²/24h, moisture is drawn away from the body to keep kids dry inside and out.

Reflective details: Visibility is crucial, especially in winter. That’s why all our ski jackets have reflective elements to help kids stay visible even on the darkest days.

Highly durable: We care about long-lasting fabrics because they are good for nature too. Our jackets are made to last through many seasons and adventures, and still look almost new.

What is PrimaLoft® – and why is it great for ski jackets?

PrimaLoft® Bio™ is our eco-friendly insulation that keeps warmth in, even when it gets wet. It’s lightweight, breathable, and made from biodegradable fibres. This means our kids’ ski jackets not only protect from the cold, but also give you the good feeling of helping the planet.

How to wash a ski jacket properly

To keep your jacket lasting longer and working well, we recommend washing it at 30°C with a detergent made for technical fabrics. Do not use fabric softener, as it can damage the membrane. What should my child wear under a ski jacket?

At namuk, we believe layering is the best way to keep your child warm and comfortable while helping them regulate their body temperature. Here’s how it works:

First layer / Baselayer: A moisture-wicking, warming layer worn directly on the skin. Synthetic materials work well, but we especially recommend merino thermal underwear for kids.

Second layer / Midlayer: Depending on how cold it is and how sensitive your child is to the cold, an insulating midlayer like one of our fleece jackets can add extra protection. Usually, you only need this in freezing temperatures. Our baselayers and the insulation in our ski jackets keep most kids warm and comfortable.

Third layer / Shell: This is the ski jacket, also known as the shell layer. It protects against wind, snow, and rain. Key features include fully taped seams, a water column rating over 15,000 mm, and high breathability in the outer fabric. This allows moisture to escape from the layers underneath. All our ski jackets are 100% PFC-free.

Ski jacket or winter jacket: What’s the difference?

It depends on your needs. A ski jacket is made for the special demands of winter sports, while a winter jacket is simply warm enough that you wouldn’t want to wear it in summer.
Our ski jackets are not just warm and waterproof. They also have extra features that matter on the slopes and in everyday winter life, like integrated snow skirts, ventilation zippers, lift pass pockets, and comfortable Lycra thumbhole cuffs. Reflective details on the front and back add extra visibility when days are short and light is low, helping keep kids safe on and off the slopes.
